Theyve
announced Phil shows in NYC. Sweet.
That ridiculous 11(?) night run at the Beacon in 01
was a life changing and healing experience for many
, myself included.
One of the shows was the day George Harrison died
and Phil played a set list that told the story of Georges
life....
OH Also , one of the nights was the Day Illian Gonzoles
was snatched away at gun point in Miami...
I remember the Cumberland Blues being very poianiant " I
dont know now, I just dont knowww If im going back
again..."
Being that it was post 9/11, one evening, firemen
and police came out to give/get some love from Phil
and the folks of NYC ,
it was one of those moments.
Then after 10 days of music the last lyrics sung to
the crowd were St Stephen>Brokedown palace
What would be the awnser to the awnser man>
Fare you well, my honey, fare you well my only true
one.
All the birds that were singing are flown, except you
alone.
Going to leave this brokedown palace,
On my hand and knees, I will roll, roll, roll.
Make myself a bed in the waterside,
In my time, I will roll, roll roll.
It was so heavy ....
Phils mystical grasp on the audiences prepherial mindset
and his ancient knowledge coupled with the vast arsenal
of Robert Hunters lyrics enables him to miraculously
tell a stories and comment/describe/reflect on current
events and make sense of it all thru song .
Such an amazing guy. He reminds me of the Elf king
from Lord of the Rings...
Seperated at birth?
